Yours Truly

Yesterday was my icebreaker. Nothing too serious, just a glimpse of my inner goober that tends to come out from time to time. You may see that more often than not, the more you get to know me. Consider yourself forewarned.

At first I thought I'd blog about something I've been reading and what I'm getting from it but decided against it. That might be too much too fast, too boring too soon (lol). I've found it's always easier to identify with someone when you know a little bit about them first. So today, this post is about yours truly (yay, I figured out my title!).  Don't worry, I'll try to keep this short and sweet - the Reader's Digest version if you will. Just pretend we're sitting on a comfy couch with a nice cup of tea while we exchange our stories :) (only, I probably don't know yours yet. If you blog, tell me! I'll follow you so we're both caught up!) My main intention here is for you to know me a little better so you can have a deeper understanding as to why I write what I write and feel what I feel. Then we'll kick this baby up a notch!

Here we go!

It all started when...

I was born to two goofballs in 1987. Over the years, I became the eldest of seven kids total. With that came my birthright (well, not sure it's really a birthright, more of a dibs, actually) of producing my parents first grandchild. I still have yet to do that but luckily, my siblings are either too young or not interested in having offspring just yet. Plus, I may have played the older sister card to invoke fear into the youngin's in order to safeguard my dibs ;) My hope is for redheaded twins, a boy and a girl. Yes, I am THAT crazy!

I'm married to a wonderful man - a country boy, tried and true, which I find amusing. My dad, a bonafied city boy from Colorado Springs, always warned me that if I stayed in Missouri too long, I'd end up marrying a pig farmers son. Well, the pig part didn't pan out but I did, in fact, marry the son of a farmer. Dad finally realized this was a good thing. It's still the best decision I've ever made. We'll be married for four years come next June and will have been together for a total of seven years by then. My how time flies.

I believe in God. More than that, I LOVE God! My relationship with Him is an integral part of my life. I grew up in church and like many kids, thought of it as more of a geriatric social club gathering rather than a place to have fellowship praising our Lord and Savior with other believers. I strayed from my beliefs in the earlier years but finally found the road back to Jesus. I never stopped believing (que music, you know which song I'm talking about) but I did, for a time, stop living for him. That all changed a few years back and life is so much easier with him leading and guiding me now. My marriage has been saved, my anxiety is slim to none...yup, I'm enjoying this life in the passenger seat! I plan to write about this area of my life quite a bit as it is incredibly important to me. Hard to keep quiet when awesome "God-moments" happen so I'm excited to share those with you, as well as my ponderings and questions I've come across during my walk with Jesus.

As I wrote yesterday, for the longest time, I had no idea what I liked, who I wanted to be, what I wanted to do. Well, I've been on this journey of self discovery for a few years now and am finally at a point where I can definitely pinpoint what I'm all about. I think I'll just list it all out, mainly because I never have before so this is more for me than you (sorry, reader, I'm not doing a good job of keeping this short and sweet, am I?)

jesus christ. vintage anything. diy. cooking. baking. hikes. crafts. bible. playing guitar. singing. family time. cold mornings with warm blankets on the weekends. creamy chai tea. testimonies. art. home remedies. lavender. montana. roadtrips. girl time. quiet time. jammies. old photos. homemade gifts. massages. camping. laughing till you cry. full faith. decorating. long conversations. spontaneity. succulents. reading. sunday mornings. eureka springs. fuzzy socks. dream interpreting. living off the land. self sufficiency. honesty. libraries. improvising. music. devotionals. love notes. farm life. crocheting. christmas. mr chin. babies. movie night. animals. the river. hammocks. poetry. country roads. gardening. floating. flying kites. winking. peony's. inside jokes. photography. higher ground. grandparents. willow trees. travel. blessings. relaxing. deep breaths. new experiences. learning. peace. joy. epiphanies.

Phew! Once you start it's hard to stop! You have to understand, it's AWESOME that I'm able to identify myself with so many different things because before I never could. I'd draw a blank each time and say "um" a lot. I could keep going on and on about the things I love but I'm certain you get the point by now.

So this is me. I hope you like what you've read so far. If not, that's okay. My mama always told me that what other people think about me isn't any of my business anyway :)

I was asked yesterday what my blog would be about and really, at this point, it's an 'anything goes' for now. I have no idea what I'll be writing about tomorrow but I kinda like winging it. Keeps things interesting.

Later gator!
